Father's Day June 19, 2017

Hey Everyone!

Sorry about the lack of emails last week. Nothing eventful happened so
there was nothing to email about. So..... But don't worry I'm still
alive!

I want to start out by thanking all the wonderful father's in the
world. Wherever you are you have a huge impact on your children's
lives. And that includes father figures as well. Most of all I want to
thank my dad for being the greatest dad in the world. He's taught me
so much about faith, living the gospel, being a missionary, and
remember to laugh and smile everyday! I'm proud to say my dad is my
best friend. He's the greatest dad I could ask for. Love you! 😘

Now if our father here on earth feels that way about us imagine how
much our Heavenly Father loves us. He's always here and never leaves
our side. He wants to hear from us so don't forget to pray to him
EVERYDAY and listen for what He tells you. He loves you so much. Don't
you ever, ever forget that.

We had an exchange with the Sister Training Leaders (STLs) in Denton
and we didn't know this but they had Stake Conference that day. Guess
who was there? The apostle Quentin L. Cook! So we unexpectedly heard
from an apostle! He's the cutest little old man and you can tell he
genuinely loves everyone! The spirit is so strong around him! You
couldn't doubt he's an apostle! Such a cool experience!

Alyssa is still in Oklahoma so we didn't meet with her this week. But
don't worry we have her phone number and she's doing well.

Hope y'all have a great week! Keep praying and striving to be the
person God wants you to be! You're all amazing and I love you!

Update time! June 6, 2017

Hey Everyone!

Hope y'all have had a great week!

We went to see Robert one of the people who came to church last week.
He asked, "Do you have an extra Book of Mormon? I lost mine." Heck
yes!!! He was telling us things he thought were great about the church
and the people. He said he loves that it's so simple. For a while I
struggled to have that mind-set. I've always had a bad habit of making
things more complicated than they need to be. But it doesn't have to
be that way! The gospel is simple! Don't overthink it! As long as
you're doing the little things everyday that keep your testimony
strong, don't worry about all of the little details.

We met with Susan yesterday and she's been reading the Book of Mormon
like she said she would! Yay! We showed the video, "He Lives" and the
spirit was so strong she cried a lot! She said it was a good reminder
because she's been feeling really lonely lately. All of her kids live
far away and she loved being reminded that Christ is always here with
us. We were so glad we stopped by.

Unfortunately there is some bad news. We need to move Alyssa's baptism
date but we don't know what day to move it to yet. Her parents are
divorced so David is her dad and Tracy is actually her step-mom. Her
birth mom lives in Oklahoma and she asked Alyssa to come stay with her
for a month. We don't know what day she's going to be back, but if
everyone would PLEASE keep her in your prayers! We really hope
everything will work out!

Thank you for praying for our goal as a mission of 100 baptisms by the
end of July! Right now our mission has 92 dates set! That's amazing!
We are so grateful for everyone praying for our goal! It's been a huge
testimony builder of prayer! Thank you thank you a thousand times!

Hope y'all have a fantastic week! You're amazing and I pray for you
all the time!

Transfer Surprises! May 28, 2017

Hello Everyone!

Hope y'all had a great week! I know we did! A miracle happened at
church yesterday! A lot of our investigators went out of town and we
were really bummed we wouldn't have any investigators at sacrament.
Then two people we never met before come up to us and say, "Hi my
name's Robert and this is my friend Tracy. I came here once a year and
a half ago but I usually work on Sundays but I didn't today. And I
thought I'd bring Tracy with me today." 😳😳😳 WHAT??? We found him in
the area book and he was taught by missionaries a year ago! Oh my
goodness! The Lord really does bless you for your hard work!

On Saturday we had permission to leave the mission and help with the
tornado clean-up in Canton, TX. The man we were helping had an amazing
attitude! He said, "Well we needed to get rid of a lot of stuff, so we
just got rid of it all at once!" or "This all happened because my wife
wanted a new couch because we definitely need a new couch now!" That's
incredible. If I was in his shoes I wouldn't have that attitude. It
was truly eye-opening.

Exciting news! We set a baptism date with Alyssa for June 17th!
Woohoo!!!! We're so excited!

More news! Transfers are this week and me and Sister Giles are
actually staying together! I've never been with a companion longer
than 2 transfers! This also means I'll be in Flower Mound for at least
6 months! I'll be my first two areas for 6 months! Crazy!

Hope your week is great! You're still in my prayers! And please pray
for our mission to reach our goal of 100 baptisms by the end of July!
He more prayers the better! 100 souls to Christ in such a short amount
of time! Yay! Love you!

Hi There! May 8, 2017

Howdy Everyone!

Sorry I've been slacking on emails. Monday's are crazy!

This weekend we had Stake Conference and two special guests were
there: President Whitney and Elder Larry Lawrence from the Quorum of
the Seventy! On Saturday when President Whitney got up to speak, he
asked for all the full-time missionaries in the stake/zone would stand
up. We felt really awkward but stood up. Then he asked us all to come
up to the stand 😳 We all went up and he introduced all of the
companionships and told the crowd a few facts about us. We were all
embarrassed and laughing then President said, "These are all wonderful
missionaries and great teachers. Please have them in your home. They
will do a wonderful job teaching your friends and family." Awww!!!
President! I just love President Whitney! There couldn't be a better
mission president for me! Then when we sat down Elder Lawrence said,
"Thank you President for your work. And thank you for your
missionaries." If you know me, you know I hate being put on the spot.
But that was really great that he took the time to do that. He let the
people of the Lewisville Stake how great we are and how much He loves
us. I've never doubted the fact that President Whitney loves us
missionaries. He's amazing.

Okay now I'll stop bragging about my mission president 😂 We met with
Alyssa and we were hoping to set a baptismal date with her, but she
said she wants some more time to be ready. That's totally fine! We
want her to feel ready for baptism so we'll continue to work with her
until she feels like she is ready to take this next step in her life.

Exciting news! Elder Lawrence is actually going to be speaking to our
mission! It's really rare to hear from two general authorities back to
back like this on your mission! I'm super excited!

Other than that there's not much to update on. It's great to be a
missionary and find those who are ready to receive the restored
gospel! Have a great week! I love you all! Keep praying and remember
the important things in life!

Until next week! Love you ❤️

Short and Sweet - April 24, 2017

Hey Everyone!

Sorry this emails going to be short. We were sick for a few days so
not very much happened.
Unfortunately Louie doesn't want to take the lessons anymore. We're
sad about it but we can move on and find someone who's ready to
receive the gospel ☺️

Alyssa is doing really well! She stayed for all 3 hours of church this
week! Woohoo!!! We hope to set a date with her soon!

Okay if you haven't watched this last Conference yet, and even if you
have, go listen to Elder Holland's talk, "Songs Sung and Unsung." I've
listened to it over and over and every time I do it's amazing. We live
in a crazy world and sometimes it seems hopeless. There are so many
voices saying you have to look or act a certain way or else you're not
good enough. Guess what? YOU DON'T HAVE TO LISTEN!! Everyone is unique
and everyone is needed in this world! Don't you dare think you're
replaceable because you're not! We all have our own talents! Every.
Soul. Is. Precious. Don't ever forget that!

I love you all and you're all very important to me! Don't forget that!
I love you! Seriously!

Howdy from Texas! April 17, 2017

Hi Everyone!

Hope you all had a good week! I know I did! Sorry I didn't send a
group email last week, but I'm emailing now! Repentance is real!

Yesterday was Easter and I love Easter time! It's a great time to
think about the Savior and His resurrection. He lives so we can all
live again! I loved sharing the church's Easter video "Prince of
Peace" with everyone. The spirit is SO STRONG whenever you watch it.
Honestly when the church announced a new video I was being a little
skeptical. I kept thinking, "How could this one be better than
'Because of Him?!' We use that one all the time!" Then I watched the
new one and felt the Peace that comes with it and thought, it IS just
as good. I love being a missionary and having the opportunity to talk
about the Savior all day everyday ☺️

On a more sad note, Louie doesn't want to meet with us anymore. We're
really sad, but everyone has their own freedom to choose.

In other news transfers are this week.....and me and Sister Giles are
staying together! Yay!! We're so excited to be together for at least 3
months! Yay!

The 20th is this week and that means I've been a missionary for 9
months 😳 WHAT??? How did this happen?! My mission is half-way over!
Where has the time gone?! The past 9 months have been the most amazing
9 months of my life. Yes there have been good times and hard times,
but I've learned so much everyday! And the crazy thing is, there's
still 9 months to go! Woohoo!

Being a missionary is the greatest thing I've ever done. I'm so
grateful for the opportunity I have to serve the Lord and testify of
the Savior Jesus Christ everyday!

I love all of you! Keep being awesome and remember when the hard times
come, the Lord is always with you. He never abandons you even when you
feel alone. That's when you get on your knees and pray. I promise you
He will answer.
